The new year started with a decline in home sales across the Houston area. January marked the lowest amount of total property sales since February 2021. The total number of active listings is lower than it has been in many years.
On a positive note, sales of all property types were up 9.3 percent year-over-year. Single-family home sales rose 7.1 percent.
Days on market creeped to 39 days. This is the highest it has been since April 2021. Months of inventory remained at 1.4 months. This is the same as it was March through June of 2021.
