HOME SALES COOL ANSWER YEAR-END INVENTORY GROWS

Houston home sales have exceeded 2023 levels for the third straight month, accompanied by steady growth in inventory. However, total property sales dropped 10.17% compared to October. Inventory has remained at 4.4 months since September, while the average days on the market increased to 52 days, up from 48 days last November.

City Lights Downtown Holiday Magic, presented by Shell Energy, is back for the third year with more spectacular lights, music, and magical fun. During this annual tradition, Houston First Corporation is once again teaming up with Downtown Houston +, Discovery Green, Alley Theatre, POST Houston, Hilton Americas-Houston, and Marriott Marquis to create memorable experiences for everyone at 12 uniquely themed locations. Brittenum Family Lights

A holiday lighting and special effects display synchronized to music for all ages.  Music is broadcasted on 94.3 FM.

Christmas Katy
24603 Stoughton Court, Katy, TX 77494
This home celebrates years of synchronized lighting. It has featured more than 50,000 LED lights, a 32-foot tree, 10-foot Nutcrackers, and a Christmas show with 17 songs broadcast on 89.9 FM. The whole street is expected to be lit up and beautiful as neighbors are also a part of the show.

Other Neighborhoods to Tour

River Oaks
Start at Kirby at Shepherd or Westheimer and wind through River Oaks. You will see gorgeous wrapped trees, dripping lights, glowing deer and more. 

Post Oak Boulevard, Highland Village, and Uptown
These shopping centers offer lovely Christmas lights displays and are a quick 10-minute add-on to the River Oaks neighborhood Christmas lights. From Loop 610, take San Felipe west into Post Oak, then turn left onto Post Oak and drive south toward the Galleria, where you can catch spectacular white lights on the 300 Christmas trees lining Uptown’s main holiday thoroughfare. Take a left on Westheimer and cross under the Loop to head towards Highland Village, where you can see a 60 ft. Christmas tree. Take a left onto Kirby to make your way into the heart of River Oaks described above.

Woodland Heights and the Heights
Drive within the area bordered by I-10, Heights Boulevard, and 19th St. to I-45, and you will be sure to find many eye-catching and magical holiday scenes. The featured streets this year will be Omar and Highland from Studewood to Beauchamp.

Downtown Houston, City Hall, Market Square Park, Main Street Square, Avenida Houston & Discovery Green
Check out the annual, towering Holiday Tree at City Hall and wonder through light tunnels and displays at Winter Wanderland; spend some holiday cheer in the beautifully adorned Market Square Park , marvel at the Deck the Trees display in the windows of George R. Brown Convention Center (facing Avenida de las Americas, a.k.a. Avenida Houston), and don’t miss making a pit stop to skate or take in the vibes at The Ice at Discovery Green.

Memorial Park’s Clay Family Eastern Glades
Enjoy the beautiful new 26-foot Holiday Tree on Bowden Terrace and other lights lit against Hines Lake in Clay Family Eastern Glades. 

Pecan Grove (Richmond)
It is a seasonal tradition to line the yards with holiday lights in Pecan Grove. This practice turns Pecan Grove into a magical wonderland that people come to see from near and far. Make sure to drive down Morton League, Austin Colony and Quarterpath.

The Lights of Shepherd Park Plaza
Since 1968 many Shepherd Park Plaza residents have made it a Christmas tradition to illuminate rooftops, shrubs and front lawns.Start north of West 43rd Street on either side of Ella Boulevard to find many giant inflatable characters, arches over the streets, large cutouts, and dioramas.

Spring Shadows
At the end of Kemp Forest (off Gessner), you will find colorful and fanciful Christmas light displays along the 3000 block of Quincannon Lane, including traditionally decorated homes, large wrapped trees, and entire lots filled with whimsical holiday cheer.

Prestonwood Forest Annual Nite of Lights
Prestonwood Forest, NW Houston
Tour the streets to become a part of the holiday spectacle with countless lights and lasers and art installations and remarkable creativity! Start at Prestonwood Forest Drive, just off Highway 249. This neighborhood is known to be the top area to experience extravagant Christmas lights with themed streets and a chance to see Santa.

The Woodlands
Many neighborhoods in this area will have decorated homes and streets that are show-stoppers, but start at the Panther Creek and Alden Bridge neighborhoods for over-the-top Christmas light displays set to music. Whoville at June Breeze Place and the musical display at 62, W. Knightsbridge Drive are two worth stopping by.

Candy Cane Court
Pinehurst, Atascosita
Each year Evening Shades Court turns into Candy Cane Court with giant candy canes, candy cane trees, a life-size dancing Santa, a mailbox for letters to Santa, music, a homemade train that travels around the cul-de-sac and lights that transport  the street into a Christmas destination.
